Dimapur, August 27 (MExN): The government of Assam has land and border disputes with almost all the North Eastern states such as Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Mizoram and these issues reflect the fact that the tribal were driven away from their lands by Assam, a former senior Nagaland minister said. Since India became independent in 1947, in the name of insurgency or the undergrounds, the government of Assam has taken away lands belonging to the tribals Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Mizoram, former Congress leader TA Ngullie said in a statement today.

Members Article : Will dry state bring salvation?
It gives me no pleasure to criticize anybody on the divergent views expressed on the much talk about “Dry State” but the truth must prevail and there is no denying that the act has miserably failed. However, the administration, law enforcing agency, NMA, NBCC etc are conclusive of the view that prohibition has been partially successful, may be they have said so because of the virtue of their status. In this regard, I, as for one totally disagree with them in toto. It is an open secret that taxi loaded with alcohol and plying on national highway-39 are sometimes seized.

Members Article : Prohibition: Should it be strengthened or lifted
When the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act (NLTP) 1989 was finally enacted on April 13 1990, after 23 years of struggle, it was seen as a victory of ‘goodness’ over ‘evil’ and therefore historic.
The predominantly Christian state had won a battle – a battle supposed to have been won for the victims of alcoholism, drunkenness, insobriety, intemperance, debauchery, licentiousness, broken homes and marriages, premature deaths, spiritual decadence and more specially the younger generations.

Members Article : HYPOCRISY AT ITS BEST!
A wow and Kudos to all the responsible citizens of Nagaland. Two decades back The state of Nagaland was declared a DRY DRY VERY State. Thanks to the Efforts put in by the Churches and by various organisations and the sagely wisdom of the Legislators of that time. It was a time when money was like lettuce (LAIPATTA) to the Nagas. Our virgin forests were being exploited in full swing sans any restriction, everyone was a contractor.

Members Article : A brief history of liquour prohibition movement in Nagaland
NBCC Prohibition Committee
I. MISSIONARY PERIOD
From the very beginning the Baptist Church had resolved to fight out the liquor and its evils. The American Missionary Conference adopted a resolution in Kolkata in 1875 on “Total Abstinence from liquor”. This decision was binding in all churches of the Naga Hills. Dr. Clark at Impur Field and Rev. Rivenburg at Kohima Field made the total abstinence from drink of local rice-beer a basic condition for Baptism and admission into the Church membership. By that time the Missionaries introduced and popularized the drinking of ‘Tea’ among the Nagas. Baptist’s Church movement on prohibition was opposed by British Administrators, but Prohibition was successful till the Independence of India in 1947.

Members Article : Life And Liquor
CNBC

From the beginning of Nagaland and statehood, the churches in Nagaland have committed to pray for the state and the government. Every time a new government is formed, the church leadership represented by NBCC met with the Chief Minister and his Cabinet Ministers to pray and to submit a list of concerns for the welfare of the people and the state in which liquor was a regular item to be addressed and regulated.

why did the chicken cross the road

Question: Why did the chicken cross the road?

KINDERGARTEN TEACHER: To get to the other side.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross roads.

KARL MARX: It was a historical inevitability.

SADDAM HUSSEIN: This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it.

RONALD REAGAN: I forget.

CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK: To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.

ANDERSEN CONSULTING: Deregulation of the chicken's side of the road was threatening its dominant market position. The chicken was faced with significant challenges to create and market. Andersen Consulting, in a partnering relationship with the client, helped the chicken by rethinking its physical distribution strategy and implementation processes. Using
the Poultry Integration Model (PIM), Andersen helped the chicken use its skills, methodologies, knowledge, capital and experiences to align the chicken's people, processes and technology in support of its overall strategy within a Program Management framework. Andersen Consulting convened a diverse
cross-spectrum of road analysts and best chickens along with Anderson consultants with deep skills in the transportation industry to engage in a two-day itinerary of meetings in order to leverage their personal knowledge capital, both tacit and explicit, and to enable them to synergize with each other in order to achieve the implicit goals of delivering and value framework across the continuum of poultry cross-median processes.
The meeting was held in a park-like setting, enabling and creating an impactful environment which was strategically based, industry-focused, and built upon a consistent, clear, and unified market message and aligned with the chicken's mission, vision, and core values. This was conducive towards the creation of a total business integration solution. Andersen Consulting
helped the chicken change to become more successful.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question.

MOSES: And God came down from the Heavens, and He said unto the chicken, "Thou shalt cross the road." And the chicken crossed the road, and there was much rejoicing.

FOX MULDER: You saw it cross the road with your own eyes. How many more chickens have to cross the road before you believe it?

RICHARD M. NIXON: The chicken did not cross the road. I repeat, the chicken did NOT cross the road.

MACHIAVELLI: The point is that the chicken crossed the road. Who cares
why?
The end of crossing the road justifies whatever motive there was.

FREUD: The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity.

BILL GATES: I have just released the new Chicken Office 2000, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook.

DARWIN: Chickens, over great periods of time, have been naturally selected in such a way that they are now genetically disposed to cross roads.

EINSTEIN: Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road moved beneath the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.

BUDDHA: Asking this question denies your own chicken nature.

CLINTON: I did not, and I repeat, I did not have sexual relations with the chicken.

Now... what is your version??? Post your own quess why the chicken crossed the road...
